Nyjer seed is a type of thistle seed that finches love. Nyjer works best in a tube or silo styled feeder and is often enjoyed by American Goldfinch, Pine Siskins and Purple Finches (just to name a few).


Did you know?

American Goldfinch favour Nyjer seed when nesting because they feed their offspring "thistle milk".


Nyjer seed has a very fine shell and is not recommended if you are trying to avoid shell mess.
