Peanut halves are un-roasted, un-salted, shelled, skinless peanuts that will not sprout if they fall in your garden. Peanut halves are a favourite bird seed for Chickadess, Nuthatches and woodpeckers. Many other birds will consume peanuts as they are a great source of fats and protein. You can use peanut halves to supplement your regular bird seed, or feed them on their own in a separate feeder.

Did you know?

Chestnut-backed Chickadees love peanut halves, and don't require you to break them into smaller pieces. Most chickadees will look for the largest sized peanut half and then take it somewhere safe to eat it.
