Our friendly staff is able to help you incorporate nature into your backyard oasis with a selection of Vancouver Island made products from concrete bird baths, cedar nest boxes and bird feeders. All cedar bird feeders are made locally in Nanaimo and are designed for easy cleaning, with ample cover from the rain while still allowing you to enjoy the birds. Each nest box is designed for specific species, with proper ventilation, correct entrance hole and predator guard to protect the young nestlings. We carry nest boxes designed for chickadees, nuthatches, wrens, swallows, woodpeckers and bats.
For those looking to add a splash of colour to their backyard, our store carries a selection of unique yard-art such as kinetic spinners, decorative flags, solar lights and more. We also carry beneficial insects to help your garden: ladybugs for aphid control, mason bees for pollination, nematodes for crane fly larva and other lawn pests.

Guided Bird Walks
The Backyard Wildbird and Nature store hosts weekly bird walks! We do Nanaimo walks on Sundays, and Tuesdays we are in Parksville/Qualicum. Please note, Tuesday bird walks are not held during the summer months and will resume in September. Scheduling information is posted on our blog and general information is in the Guided Bird Walks tab. The walks are free to attend as well.
